Micro Baffle for Optical Systems

Overview

This passive 3-section baffle is suitable for CubeSat star tracker applications. The deployment is provided by one compression spring.


The first baffle section is fixed at the base and the following 2 sliding sections are displaced by the multiple engaging features located between the moving elements.

  • 3 segments, 1 fixed and 2 moving elements​

  • Deployment height ≈33 mm ​

  • Stowed height: ≈ 15 mm​

  • Saving Volume Ratio: 1:3 ​
